Jewish patients need genetically
matched cord blood units

English
Israel is our genetic homeland
We urgently need your help now
Israel's most prestigious medical institutions are cooperating to establish the Israel Cord Blood Bank so that Jewish patients worldwide will have access to the genetically matched stem cells that are necessary to cure a wide range of fatal diseases.
Please help us achieve our immediate goal of raising the funds needed to collect and store the first 10,000 cord blood units so that patients will have access to the latest medical treatment.
As a cooperative venture ICBB must raise funds independently. We need your generous contribution and we need you to help increase awareness among the worldwide Jewish community about this important project.
All cord blood units stored in Israel will be available to patients worldwide and
will be listed in the international registries.

Meet Shir'el Levy - a very brave six-year-old who is fighting to survive.
Just a few months after her birth, Shir'el was diagnosed with Diamond-Blackfan Disease, a blood disorder that threatens her life. Shir'el does not produce the normal red blood cells her body needs.
Every week Shir'el travels to her local medical center in Holon, Israel for blood tests and regular blood transfusions. Soon Shir'el's disease will progress to an advanced and fatal form of Leukemia.
Shir'el's only hope for a cure is a transplant from a healthy matched donor. Neither her elder brother nor the two newborn babies in her family can provide a genetic match. Although her doctors have spent four years searching through the over 9,000,000 potential unrelated donors in the worldwide registries there is no match for Shir'el.
What can save her life? - Cord Blood!

Shir'el is one of thousands of children and adults who can hope for a cure using stem cell transplantation from cord blood. As a minority Jewish/Semitic patient the Israel Cord Blood Bank is her best hope. We need your help to make ICBB a reality, before it is too late for Shir'el.
